THE DUMB BEGGER

      It was the platform of a big railway station. The platform was crowded with lots of passengers for different trains. A beggar was moving along among the people with his hand stretched out. He begged in a manner as if he were dumb. People felt pity for his lot and give his money. Just then,another begger appeared at the scene. "please give me something.I have not eaten anything since yesterday," he cried to the people.But nobody listened to his cry of distress or pen help.Nobody gave him money.

       The second begger then saw the first begger.The first begger's bowl was full with coins and rupees because people took pity on him for his dumbness.He felt jealous of the first begger.He slowly walked upto the first begger and cried aloud,"You are a cheat. I am sure you are not at all dumb fellow".
       The first begger got very angry.He looked at the second begger angrily.He shouted,"You wicked one!I am not cheating you.why should you be after me?"
        The shouted at each other and began to quarrel.They were about to fight.someone from the passengers separated the two.
         He caught the first begger by the neck and pushed him aside calling him a cheat.
         The begger walked away quietly.He had been caught unaware as a result of his shouting.He was really not a dumb fellow.

THE DOG AND HIS SHADOW

     Once a Dog stole a piece of meat from the shop of a butcher. He ran away as fast as he could. On his way, There was a narrow bamboo bridge over a stream. When the dog was on the bridge, he saw his own image on the clear water of the stream.He took his own image for anotherdog carrying a piece of meat."I must get that piece of meat too,"thought the dog.So,he challenged his image with a growl. As soon as he opened his mouth,his own piece fell into the stream.Thus the poor dog lost what he had in his greed for more. Moral : Grasp all lose all.
